What a romantic night. All four of us walking home from a great dinner while the sun set. It's how the Robecks stroll, it how we love to be with one another. It is how we enjoy relaxing. It's how we run out of GAS!!! Truth be told, our gas gauge does not work really well so I count the miles. And today there where 322 miles counted so I told JM that there where still about 40 miles left that we could use before we needed gas. So we went to the mall, then got back into the car and drove around figuring out what to do for dinner. So we decided to go to TGIF at the Block of Orange. It was close and we could get the 2 for $20 deal. So we pull into the block right next to TGIF and go to turn into a parking spot and the Tahoe stops. Pause. We turn to each other and the kids yell "WE ARE OUT OF GAS!" Yep. So JM and I jumped out of the Tahoe and pushed the beast into a spot, thankfully a nice man helped us out. We gathered our stuff and proceeded to go eat dinner at TGIF. Then we walked 1.5 miles home to go get the Jacked-up-Jetta, as Caleb would call it, to go back to the Tahoe and fill it with gas. On the way it was cold but we held hands, then the kids ran and ran and sat on the curb while JM and I caught up to them. We saw the sun set and we walked through our neighborhood. It was peaceful and full of familiar things. We talked about spiders and our neighbors and the trees and the cars and the school. Down the home stretch and we could see our house. The sun was almost down and we where home.
JM and the kids got the gas out of the garage and off we went to get the Tahoe. The green beast that was given to us and we are so thankful for. JM took the kids home and I took the Tahoe to get filled up, 28 gallons, $89 and a Sunset stroll plus dinner!
