Each year for the last two years we have been getting together with JM family and some of our friends at the house to bake. This started because JM's grandma Gibbs had a tradition of making candy each year for the last 40 + years with her sister. A few years ago we took the family up to Sacramento to have our kids be part of this tradition. It was wonderful. The whole family got together on a Saturday in Dec. to make candy. It was a rich tradition that ended with a Chinese dinner as JM's grandfather use to get after making candy. These last two years we have been unable to go up and make candy so we thought we would keep with tradition and bake cookies and make fudge.
This year we had JM's parent's, our family, my sister-in-law and her family and my two great friends whom I love so! It was a great day that started off with CMR turning on the mixer with the beater up and cookie dough flying ALL over the kitchen. Him and I where covered in dough and the floor was a mess but the cookies turned out great. (pic above is the batch CMR and I where making when this happened!) CMR was a bit shocked and after he got cleaned up he decided he was done with making cookies and he would wait until they where ready to eat and be the cookie taster. Smart man! So blessed by our friends and family and all the cookies and fudge that we made that day!
