She's 6 today...

6 years ago today on Thursday, April 29, 2004 I was headed to the Dr. office for a routine visit then had planned to go to my last day of work to train my temp to take over while I was gone. What really happened was that I went to the doctor's office and she told me to go straight to the hospital and that she would meet me there. Shocked, I called VU for JM. He was pulling cable in Heath. No cells. I called the front desk and had the receptionist to go to the IT department so that they could run to the Heath building to get JM. I waited. They finally got him and he met me at the apartment. Our first home in Tustin, CA.

I wasn't ready! I thought I had two more weeks to get it all put together. My bag was not packed. I had not packed Rebekah's bag and we did not have anything set up yet. Rebekah was coming today! As we rushed to the hospital we where excited. We had called our family and they where all on their way, from LA and San Diego. I was induced and the count down began. Then JM left. What???? Yep he left to go back to the house and make a few more phone calsl (no cells) and get stuff for us. I was sure it was going to be fine. It took him a total of 20 minutes and he walked into the house with me calling him at home crying for him hurry back as the pain set in! He got back and the epidural doc came in. Smiling he said "do you need me?" We said no with confidence. He said ok, I am sure we will see each later. Not 10 minutes later I wanted him back, but he was with another patient and I had to wait for an hour before he could come. Once there he had said that my spine was too tight and that he could not do it. With all my might I made my spine open up and there it was...pure relief. Oh thank you Lord! I remember watching FRIENDS on TV with JM and watching the contraction on the monitor.

At about 7:30pm the Dr. came in again to check on me and decided that we needed an emergency C Section. Within the next 20 minutes we would have RRR with us. And we did. As the nurses where wheeling me to the OR my family walked in and off we went. She was tiny, 4 pounds 15 ounces. Perfectly healthy and crying. She fit on JM's forearm. He brought her to me and that was the moment that everything in my life changed. She was mine and a new love like I never new before began. Thank you Lord for RRR. For all of who she is and will be. What a beautiful little lady and love.

And so today Thursday, April 29, 2010 I wish you a Happy 6th Birthday RRR... I love you more than you will ever know!
