My first love...

A few weeks ago our pastor talked about getting back to our first love. He asked us to remember the days when we where so in awe of God. I remember those days. Those first days when I first accepted Christ into my life. I was a freshman at the University of Santa Barbara. The 2nd biggest party school in the whole USA at the time. It was 1993 and yes I went there because 1. it was a party school 2. I did not want to have rules, chapels or curfews. So here I was a freshman on my own living on campus in the dorms and loving it. On my own for the first time in my whole life. And so as the first few weeks of school began UCSB did not let me down. It was definitely the party place! Two weeks into school God had different plans. A Campus Crusade staff gave me a flier that literally changed my life. On Oct. 8, 1993 I gave my life to Christ and have been seeking him ever since. My freshman year was full be falling in love with a God that truly loved me and wanted me. I was a Bio-Major at the time and I read my Bible more than I studied and I still got great grades.

My first love, that was the time I was free in my salvation. Free of "things", churchy things and such. All I knew is that their is a God that loves me and forgave me. It was a fire of faith in knowing that God has a perfect plan for my life. And now 17 years later God has done some INCREDIBLE stuff in my life and in the lives of people around me. I have a special relationship with God and when I press into it it is always humbling and amazing, all at the same time.

My first love is always to worship God with my whole heart all the time. Some days are easier than others, because of the "business" of life. But one thing I know for sure is that God saved me and made my life beautiful. I have an amazing life because God is with me. Here is a song that my heart has been encouraged by. Blessings to all.
