First day back in EL Salvador

It has been three years since we began these missions trip with VU and once with our church. Three years of coming to EL Salvador to serve. Our kids know EL Salvador as a place where we serve God and people. Caleb got into the airport and quickly remembered his pal Walter. Walter has known Caleb since our first trip down. Rebekah went and bought her friend Nielie some gifts for their reunion tomorrow. We are expecting great things form God and know that he will provide in amazing way, far beyond what we could imagine. We are excited about this trip and are excited about this team. God has already been so faithful.

On a funnier note…Caleb and Rebekah…we got into our hotel, the Hotel Novo, today and not 20 minutes into hanging out in the room Rebekah locked her and Caleb in their bedroom. The hotel room has two bedrooms, a little kitchen and a living room. All of the sudden we hear “Daddy? Daddy? Can you open our door?” JM tried to tell her how to open it but to no avail. I opened our balcony door and asked a lady to send someone to come and open the door. As I talked to her THE kids looked out of their window waving to her. JM and I were laughing, Rebekah was trying and trying to open the door and Caleb was jumping from bed to bed turning off and on the lights. So funny.

After lunch the kids still in their clothes jumped into the pool. They just could not resist it any longer. So for the next hour they and some of the students enjoyed the coolness of the water!

I am looking forward to each day as it comes.
