Hatching
So here is the official story of our eggs that are in the incubator. A friend brought us some fresh eggs from her mom's chickens. Awesome. Ya, fresh eggs! JM grew up being around farm animals and loves the idea of the kids being able to see how chicks are hatched. So in discussion I was completely against getting eggs for hatching and I knew he would not go online and spend money to actually buy the eggs, so I was safe. Until the next morning I opened my Facebook and saw that one of my friends was GIVING hatching eggs away for free. Ugh...I should have just not told him right? I couldn't do that so, I told JM and off we went that evening to get the eggs.
That night he put the eggs in the cooler with a lamp...then the next day he built the incubator! It was craziness. He was taking apart a lamp for it (sorry Ash, he promises to put your lamp back together once they hatch!), took my rack out of the microwave, bought a light bulb and a timer, took my candy thermometer, my baking wear for water, some wood and a painting tin we had in the garage and there you have it. An incubator that self adjusts for the temp to only be 99 degrees!
I think it is amazing that JM's mind thinks like this and I am blessed that he can literally build and fix anything AND no one got hurt!!!
So watch as this continues...if I am blogging about building a chicken coop I'm done!
