Being pushed to my limits
Here is a picture I took this weekend on our missions intensive weekend in Santa Barbara. You have heard me talk about my friend JG and what an awesome photographer she is (www.gibellydesigns.com), this one is for her. Photography has been a part of my life ever since I can remember. I started with little cameras and taking pictures of my sister from her birthday, that was 30 years ago. In high school and college I was toughed how to work in a dark room and develop film. I learned on film. I went to Italy for a summer in college to take photos and work in a photo lab. It was amazing. If you asked me to put together a film lab I could do it. I have done it a few times. But here I am working without film and working on the computer to get the right feel for a photo. I was taught to take a picture on the camera and take it so that you would not have to manipulate it later. This photo was just that. I set my camera lined the shot up and took the photo. One photo and got this.
I was sitting in service outside looking up and noticed that the lights at this camp where made out of cans. I could not stop looking at them as I thought it was pretty awesome that they would use cans. I left the service to go get my camera and came back and took this picture. I was so happy to open it in photoshop and see that I really did not need to change it in anyway. It warms my heart and I have been thinking about it ever since I took it. It speaks to me only because it reminds me of the talent God has given me and it reminds me of the influence I have in my life. I am thankful for my friends that are pushing me to my limits and then when I think I got there they push a little harder and I begin to see that there is so much more to learn. I love that about life. Thanks!
