What an a amazing week it has been. Fun playing with friends at church and taking pictures. My friend Jenna asked me a few months ago if I would be willing to take pictures of her and her husband, Matt, as they are expecting their first baby. At first I was not sure if I should as I was afraid I may not be able to capture them in telling their story on camera.
See, I think that every photoshoot should tell a story of the people. I love taking people pictures for that very reason. Although I know Jenna and Matt from church and childrens ministry I really did not know them outside of those surrounds. I did not know how funny and loving they are to each other. So Monday came around and I had my camera at the back bay. At first we all kind of stood there and talked. Then we got started. I wasn't sure what to do so I just started taking pictures. Then we all got comfortable and the story was told.
It was so much fun and I could not get over how comfortable they felt with me. I am more than please to be able to show off their prego pictures. It makes me feel honored that so many people love them and that so many people have said that the pictures tell their story so perfectly. (Thanks Matt for getting into it!!!)
I love this gift that God has given to me from such a young age. Since I can remember I have loved taking pictures. Still pictures. Black and whites, and bright colors. As I take pictures of friends and family I get better every time. Even though I majored in photography in college, the camera has come a long way from my manual pentax. It was hard for me to turn my love of taking photos into a little business. But, with much prayer and much success we have ourselves a little side job of taking everyday moments and turning them into a life time of memories!
