JM and I have been married now for 8 years. Since I have known him he has never ever, not once, ever given me a HIGH FIVE! "I'm just not a high five kind of person" he would tell me. I though, for the last 8 years have been trying to get him to high five me. And so when I found out he was giving high fives to his friend Drake I was crushed. JM had to actually tell Drake that he couldn't give him anymore high fives because he has never given me one and "he's not a high five kind of guy". I didn't give up, I kept trying to get a high five from him for special stuff and nothing. The kids and I would high five and JM would just look on.
BUT TODAY was a different day, I chalk it up to him being delirious from writing a 22 page paper, but I don't care, I will take what I can get. I told him that there was a surprise for him in his closet and he saw that I had ironed all his clothes for the week. After his grateful kiss (oh yes this he will do!!!) I asked for the high five...shocked...with my hand held high I saw him raise his hand and give me a solid HIGH FIVE! And there it is one of the greatest moments in our married! :)
