I find it hard some times to picture where our home could possibly be. For now it is in Santa Ana, CA. Today we got back form our yearly missions trip to El Salvador. I had hoped to be able to write every day we where there but it was too busy and I got too tired by the end of the day.
The trip of course was wonderful. Amazing to see what God is doing in the lives of the people of El Salvador. More and more I am drawn to the culture, language and community. This trip was different for me. It did not seem like a "missions" trip rather a time to visit with friends, listen, encourage and pray. I am feeling comfortable there in a way, seeing familiar people and places. I even know where things are at in their grocery stores.
Rebekah amazed me on this trip. This was the first time that she did not have a student or adult to really play with and so she was forced to make friends with the local kids on her own. There was a lot of "Mommy how do you say X" and "Mommy, what should I say" but once that was out of the way she thrived in friendship.
Caleb would just give his base ball to one of the locals, raise his glove in the air and instantly had a friend for the next hour. He loved working a long side JM and was full of energy everyday to work.
The Lord blessed us and kept us safe even thorugh Caleb getting sick -- I knew he was with us.
