What a great way to start Spring, we planted our FIRST official garden. It was so much fun. Me and the kids dug up all the weeds and cleared the dirt, that was a lot of work but some great conversation. Then John Mark came and helped to dig way down and we sifted the dirt. Then we mixed the dirt with good soil and got the rows ready. The kids where excited to plant their seeds and little plants. I have never actually planted a garden and usually I do not like working in the yard but I am becoming very fond of it. It was fun to have all five of us, John Mark, me, Rebekah, Caleb and of course George out in the backyard enjoying our time together. After about 3 hours we had our little garden where we planted cherry tomatoes, artichokes, two different kinds of squash, green onions, chilies, carrots, Brussels sprouts (Rebekah's new favorite food) and sweet basil. I can't wait to see them grow and eat some yummy veggies from our garden.
